Dr. Jared Christensen’s roots run deep in Utah County, where he was raised around horses and developed a lifelong passion for equine care. From an early age, he was actively involved in 4-H, FFA, and both high school and collegiate rodeo, building hands-on experience that continues to shape his approach as an equine veterinarian in Utah. His journey in veterinary medicine began right here at Rocky Mountain Large Animal Clinic, where he worked cleaning stalls before advancing to a veterinary assistant role—laying the foundation for the career he leads today.
Professional Skills
To support his education, Dr. Christensen earned a farrier certification from the Oklahoma School of Horseshoeing, giving him a unique, well-rounded understanding of hoof care, lameness, and overall horse health. He graduated from Utah State University and went on to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Purdue University in 2010, with a strong focus on equine medicine and surgery.
